We at Paintbox don’t think a home’s beauty should come at the expense of the environment. We believe that the air quality within your home is as important as the air quality outside, and that is why we offer a full range of sustainable environmentally-friendly durable paints, varnishes and stains. Our customers typically select paints that are 100% acrylic, zero or low VOC, and meet or exceed LEEDS environmental standards.
Eco-friendly products have improved greatly since they were first introduced. New eco-friendly paints and stains are durable, come in all the latest designer colours, and are suitable for interior and exterior use!
The Government of Canada has introduced regulations that are aimed at protecting the environment and the health of Canadians from the effects of air pollution. As part of this effort, they have reduced the amount of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) contained in paint decorative products such as alkyd (oil-based) paints, varnishes and wood stains.
Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are substances that help control the thickness, flow and drying time of paints. VOC’s contain toxins that when released into your home or office, are harmful to your health.
We encourage all our customers to select one of our high quality zero VOC (or very low VOC) paint products for their projects. Painting with a low or no VOC paint will keep these harmful compounds from possibly hurting you and your family.
